Representative Christine Trujillo was born and raised in Taos and currently, lives in Albuquerque with her husband Dale Petty. Christine has 5 children and 6 grandchildren. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with Bilingual certification from New Mexico Highlands University. Afterward, she received her Master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico.
Christine has dedicated her life to being an educator spending 21 years in the classroom as a teacher and was elected to be the the National Vice President of the American Federation of Teachers, New Mexico. She has also spent 12 years as the President of the New Mexico Federation of Labor -- AFL-CIO, fighting for New Mexican workers.
Representative Trujillo currently serves as a member of the House Appropriations and Finance Committee and the House Education Committee.
