Bill bringing more public trust in the PRC now heads to the Senate

SANTA FE – Today, House Democratic Leader Brian Egolf’s PRC Ethics bill passed the House of Representatives with bipartisan support. The final vote was 44 - 19, HB 27 now heads to the Senate.

“I am proud that both Democrats and Republicans were able to come together to pass the PRC Ethics bill today,” said House Democratic Leader, Representative Brian Egolf. “This bill will create more public trust in our PRC and will help better protect New Mexico rate payers. This is an important step in ensuring our public servants are making decisions to benefit New Mexico’s hard working families, and not large corporations or out-of-state special interests. I look forward to working with our Senate on getting the PRC Ethics bill to the Governor’s desk.”

Every Democratic member present voted in favor of the bill, HB 27 now goes to the Senate for the committee process.
