House Appropriations and Finance Committee Hears Findings from the Yazzie/Martinez vs New Mexico Case
Santa Fe - Today, the House Appropriations and Finance Committee met to hear and discuss public school support and findings from the Yazzie/Martinez vs New Mexico case.
“This is a great start to the discussion on how to strengthen our education system,” said Chairwoman of the House Appropriations and Finance Committee, Rep. Patricia Lundstrom (D-Gallup). “We are committed to making meaningful change for our students, at all levels, and we will continue this conversion by consulting with all stakeholders.”
“We have made education a priority so that every New Mexican child has the opportunity to succeed,” said Chairman of the House Education Committee, Rep. G. Andres Romero (D-Albuquerque). “Investments in education are direct investments in our communities and future economic success. As we move through the legislative process we will continue to work to improve our proposals as we strengthen our public education system.”
Education is a top priority for the House Democratic Majority. As the 54th Legislature continues the House of Representatives will continue to work with all stakeholders to find solutions that will improve the lives of all New Mexico’s children.
