Speaker-Designate Brian Egolf Sets Top Priority to Grow Economy and Create Jobs
Santa Fe – Today, the incoming Democratic Leadership of the New Mexico House of Representatives begin their statewide Job Creation Listening Tour, focused on creating jobs and growing the economy. The tour will engage business owners, industry, employers, and other New Mexicans in conversations with members of the New Mexico House of Representatives to discuss solutions for New Mexico’s economy.
The tour reflects the House Democratic Leadership’s top priority of increasing the number of jobs available to hard-working New Mexico families. The incoming Democratic Majority in the New Mexico State House has prioritized growing the economy as its number one focus.

Our state is in a dire budget crisis, and our families are hurting,” said Speaker-designate Egolf, “The focus of our new leadership is to put New Mexicans back to work and grow our economy – an economy that works for everyone – in all parts of the state. If we listen to our business community, our colleges, and our workforce, I have confidence that we can begin the hard work of turning our economy around.”

Speaker-designate Egolf will join House Majority Leader Sheryl Williams Stapleton (D-Albuquerque), House Majority Whip Doreen Gallegos (D-Las Cruces), and Caucus Chair D.
