Representative Nick Salazar currently lives in Ohkay Owingeh with his wife, Maria Ana. They have three children. Nick attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, and served in the U.S. Air Force, in which he attained the rank of sergeant. From 1964 to 1968, he was a county commissioner, and in 2013, he was presented by Los Alamos National Security with a lifetime achievement award for his contributions to the organizations in research. He is the longest serving member in the NM House of Representatives, having served since 1973.
Representative Salazar currently serves on the Appropriations and Finance Committee, on the Agriculture and Water Resources Committee, and on the Rules and Order of Business Committee.
