Representative Liz Thomson Outlines Her Vision for the Legislative Session
Elizabeth “Liz” Thomson Will Serve as Vice-Chair on the House Health and Human Services Committee
Santa Fe, NM – Recently elected Representative Elizabeth “Liz” Thomson (D-Albuquerque) was honored at the start of the 53rd legislative session with an appointment to Vice-Chair of the Health and Human Services Committee (HHS) she will also serve on the Appropriations and Finance Committee (HAFC). Representative Thomson’s top legislative priorities are improving child wellbeing, decreasing DUI’s and adding efficiency to the state’s tax policies.
“The legislation I am sponsoring will protect New Mexico’s children, persons with disabilities and police officers” said Representative Elizabeth “Liz” Thomson (D-Albuquerque). “Additionally, the health of all New Mexicans is very important to me and I plan to introduce several bills to address these needs.”
The Health and Human Services Committee deals with legislation that affects the health and well-being of New Mexicans as well as affiliated programming. As a pediatric physical therapist, Representative Thomson will bring her experience to HHS as its Vice-Chair and focus on the state’s budget as a member of HAFC.
