New Study Finds New Mexico Greatly Underfunding Early Childhood Programs

Santa Fe, NM – Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 14 – Reps. Maestas and Martinez will discuss their House Joint Resolution 1, which calls for modest increases of investments in education and early childhood programs from the Land Grant Permanent Fund.
Mr. Sánchez will present a new study examining the unmet needs in early childhood programs across the state.
The speakers will address the need for quality early childhood programs, from home-visiting prenatally through full-day pre-K accompanied by quality child care for low-income parents who work or who are in school.
